Just Cause 3 eGuide Story Missions

A Terrible Reaction

After an exciting cutscene, you’re returned to the area near Costa Del Porto.

Destroy the Tanks

Mario is heading into town while your job is to take out three tanks. Parachute down toward the town, but keep to the higher ground so that you have a great vantage point. You can destroy the tanks from long range with your rocket launcher (this is even doable while you’re in the air above them, making it impossible for the tanks to use their heavy guns against you).

If you’re really gutsy, an alternative is to parachute right onto the tanks and use your explosives to detonate them as you leap to safety. This one isn’t for the faint of heart, but it’s especially fun to try out.

Blast all three tanks and then head into the city proper.

Protect Mario

Militia forces inside the city are attacking the rebels and civilians alike. Get to Mario quickly so that you can help the rebels push back.

Parachute and glide into the city and land on a rooftop near Mario’s position. Militia troops are all over the roads, but none of them was clever enough to secure the rooftops. You gain a huge advantage by staying above them. Go to the edge of a roof, kill a few targets with your assault rifle, and retreat if you take any damage.

Make sure that Mario doesn’t take too much damage. He has a health bar onscreen again, and you can jump down into the fray if you think Mario is in trouble. There’s a cache of weapons in a green locker at ground level; restock if necessary, and keep the pressure on these jerks.

The militia troops get reinforcements as soon as their numbers begin to thin. Watch the skies, because many of them are parachuting down toward you. Snipe them out of the sky if you can. Or, destroy the large fuel container that they pass over to kill the entire group in one fell swoop. Very nice!

A gate drops to block the escape of the rebels. Tether the gate to the top of the structure that houses it to open the way. A truck drives through; jump into the back of it and provide cover as they evacuate the city.

A gunship flies overhead. Grapple up to the ship and pull the pilot out of his seat. That settles the matter immediately! Now that you have a helicopter at your disposal, follow it and destroy anything that tries to stop it.

You “only” have a minigun, but that’s more than enough to stop the light vehicles pursuing your allies. Look for things to attack to thwart the enemies, like explosives on the side of the road, or on the bridge that the truck drives across afterward.

If you lose your chopper, zip to the vehicles that are close to the truck and kill their gunners and drivers. You can keep doing this to lower the pressure on Mario.

Get Mario far enough away from the city and he reaches a small airpad and escapes. This concludes the mission. Good job on your escort, Rico!

Costa Del Porto took serious damage, and many people are dead. But, you’re alive, and it’s time to regroup. Mario and Dimah are at the southern edge of Soros. When it’s time to advance the story, meet them there! It’s at the end of the island chain, so keep flying southwest to get there.

Before you leave, you can quickly complete a Liberation, so think about doing that!
