Racing

• Once you’ve completed the race, you will still be in the same vehicle that you ran the race in, so you can use this as a “free” Rebel Drop!
• Speed Boosts from the Gear Mods help with all of these races, allowing you to gain much faster times with the default vehicles suggested.
• If you’re struggling to get decent times, try capturing a good vehicle in the class that’s the same at the race you’re struggling with, then select that vehicle by pressing Square/X at the Challenge menu.
• Any vehicle you’ve unlocked for Rebel Drops is available, as long as it’s in the class of vehicle allowed for that specific race.

Air

In Air Races you’re allowed to select either helicopters or planes, depending on the race (you can’t select a jet to use for a helicopter race).

• When flying planes use Square/X and Circle/B to turn. Steering this way is much easier. It does, however, make turning much slower so you may need to use the Left Stick for sharper turns.
• Managing your speed is key. You want to go fast, but aren’t on a road, so missing a checkpoint is very easy and results in a few lost gears on your final rating.
• Keep an eye on your altitude when flying in the helicopters. You can easily get too close to the ground while concentrating on moving forward! Don’t forget about your rotor blades. They extend past the body of your helicopter, so getting too close to trees or other objects can easily throw your helicopter off course!

Land

Land Races send you down hills, around tight corners, and occasionally off jumps.

• Always try to reverse as far as the game will let you from the starting checkpoint before driving through it. This allows you to hit the starting line at a much higher speed than you would have if you started from the spawn point.
• When crossing a busy intersection, always pass cars on the trunk side. This prevents them from clipping your car as you speed by.
• Use the standard brake L2/LT instead of the E-Brake Square/X when taking corners to maintain traction on the road. It allows you to accelerate much faster out of the turn.

Sea

Setting good times on Sea Races is heavily determined by the lines you draw to get from each objective. Try to take the most direct path possible. This may be hard to decipher due to the waves moving your boat from side to side as you navigate.

• Once you’ve unlocked jumping in the Gear Mod menu, you can use it to jump over mines in the water, greatly increasing your time on a few courses.
• Speed boats and Jet Skis are pretty easy to find in the resort towns of Medici, so take a little trip to town and bring a new boat to your dock to be stripped down if you’re struggling to get a good time.
