Quest

The third-largest island after Summerset and Auridon, Artaeum has been home to the venerable Psijic Order of mystics who follow the practice of the “Elder Ways.” Artaeum consists of arable land, blossoming trees, and glistening beaches, only recently marred slightly by intermittent daedric incursions. Dominating the northern shoreline is the Ceporah Tower, where the Dunmeri god Sotha Sil occasionally teaches and periodically peers into the realms of Oblivion.

The Crystal Tower (Approach)

The Crystal Tower, sometimes known as Crystal-Like-Law, is so named, not because it’s made of crystal but because the structure houses “the” crystal—Transparent Law, the “mystical stone” of the Tower of the High Elves. During the quest, battle to face the fearsome Wraith-of-Crows at the foot of the infamous Crystal Tower.

Building or Threshold

  • Enemies: Night Terror, Sapiarch, Shrike

Battle enemies both ethereal and corporeal as you dodge a bottomless drop, staying to the balcony and stairs of this large crypt chamber.

Nocturnal’s ever-shifting domain of twilight and gloom somehow seems to be adjacent to every other realm of reality. In the dark, if you turn and look quickly, you can almost glimpse it. When you’re able to utilize the portal to visit this place with your companions, pack enough equipment to deal with a daedric onslaught.

Based on the quantity of moldering ruins on Artaeum, once there must have been many more Monks of the Psijic Order than are present today. This hall looks to have been abandoned more recently than most. The serene exterior of this place belies the frightening activities occurring within. Be sure you meet Ulliceta gra-Kogg for a quest before entering.

The reason for the abandonment becomes clear the moment you begin to explore this three-level series of halls and bridges; there is necromantic power writhing through this vault! Battle through to the deepest parts of this location to face the First Flesh Colossus, a behemoth as disgusting as his name suggests. Be certain to battle the Vessel of Worms at the culmination of the quest.

With the quest active, reach the lonely Artaeum Beach and follow the quest guidance to unlock the various chambers, as you attempt to thwart the mind of a powerful Sea Sload. Be prepared to be warped into K’Tora’s Mindscape, a spiral path where you face two of his mind-addled champions before slaying the bloated beast himself.
