Description: There’s been a murder in Russafeld. Linwenvar heard it was done by Wood Elves—specifically one enigmatically known as the Ghost of the Green. Investigation of the murder has been stalled, as the investigators require a third man due to the Rule of Three—a law that requires all investigations to be performed with three investigators. Fill in as their third and get this investigation rolling once more.
Talk to Tarnamir
You’ll find Tarnamir in Russafeld, northwest of where Linwenvar is currently sitting. Speak with him, then talk to Lorne, who is standing next to him.
Search the Fields
You can question three of the bystanders in the area to get more information on this case. Once you’re done, head southwest to the objective marker to begin your search.
The body is located near the center of the circle on an elevated plot of earth north of the grapevines. Once you’ve found it, whistle to call the others to your location.
Search the Vineyard for Clues
Head east of the body to continue your investigation. At a small enclosure in the center of the circle, find a suspicious sack. Open it and take its contents back to Lorne, who is still with the body.
Search Halimorion’s Villa
Head southwest of the body to find Halimorion’s Villa. Once inside, go upstairs and read the letter on the desk in the back of the room.
Exit the villa to find Lorne. Speak with her, then head east to the Wood Elf Cottage.
Investigate the Wood Elf Cottage
Before entering the cottage, you can speak with Soravil to learn about his connection to this case.
Once inside, speak with Elsoreth. She’ll be none too pleased to see you, but can be convinced with Persuasive Will to give you some info about her son.
After speaking with Elsoreth, head upstairs and search her son Celan’s room. Look under his bed to find his journal. Read it, then head back out and speak with Soravil.
He will suggest you investigate the nearby Red Temple for clues on Celan’s whereabouts. Follow Soravil there, then head inside.
Red Temple Catacombs
Search for Celan
Head for the Red Temple’s south side to find Celan. Be careful if you decide to drop from the bridge to the room’s lower level. An elite enemy known as the Crimson Catch is resting in the dead center of the room and you’re liable to land in its territory if you jump off haphazardly.
Once in the southern room, grab the hunting arrow, then return to Soravil.
Head back to Russafeld and speak with Lorne. Follow her west to Tarnamir’s Manor House.
Once inside, investigate the spot below the painting on the west wall. You’ll find scratches that spell out a word. Speak with Lorne about the scratches, then watch her perform her spell.
Leave Tarnamir’s house and head west. Find Lorne at the bridge leading to the entrance of the Red Temple Catacombs and speak with her again.
Enter the Red Temple Catacombs
Head in a short ways to Lorne. You’ll need to chase after the culprit, but the room’s south door doesn’t open, so head through the west door.
Compared to the earlier Red Temple, this one is significantly harder. While you won’t find any elite enemies wandering about, there are quite a few spiders and living statues that give you a run for your money. Take your time and pick enemies off carefully to avoid getting into a tight spot.
While the path does have a few dead ends, it’s mostly a straightforward trek to the culprit’s lair.
Once you defeat the Ghost of the Green, head into the Red Temple foyer through the northern door and talk to Lorne.
Talk to Elsoret at Russafeld
Head back to Russafeld and speak with Elsoreth to complete this quest. Elsoret will give you a Ghost’s Skullcap in hopes of never seeing it again.
