Gloam Knight (Shadow of Nocturnal)

Gloam Knight (Two-Armed Form)
Description

This is Nocturnal’s champion, a warped and twisted husk of Tundilwen, Earl of Nocturnal. It feels hate, embodies mystery, and has no sympathy. You face it atop the Crystal Tower, at the culmination of the Main Quest line. Consult the quest itself for more pertinent tactical knowledge.

Abilities
  • Birthing: The Crystal Tower stone is being reforged with Nocturnal’s magic. Numerous pools of shadow appear around the combat space. From these pools appears Tundilwen, a previously defeated entity, which is essentially the first version of this enemy that you face. It is imbued with massive amounts of shadow energy. Step away from the pools, as they are hazardous.
  • Escalation: After losing health to your attacks, this foe creates multiple shadow pools and grows four additional arms (creating a six-armed form). Though the pools are now less hazardous, the entity has other abilities (thanks to the additional appendages).
  • Two-Handed Quick Melee Attack (Shadow Rend): The enemy uses its manifested clawed hands to swipe at you, dealing oblivion damage if you don’t block it.
  • Six-Handed Quick Melee Attack (Shadow Rend): The enemy uses all three arms on each side to swing in rapid succession, each dealing oblivion damage if you don’t block it.
  • Two-Handed Quick Ranged Attack (Shadow Pulse): The enemy throws a shadow projectile that deals oblivion damage if not blocked.
  • Six-Handed Quick Ranged Attack (Shadow Pulse): The enemy throws a shadow projectile from three of its six hands on either side of its body; each deals oblivion damage if not blocked.
  • Mouth Beam (Shade Impulse): The enemy opens its mouth and leans toward the target (medium to long range) and releases a sustained beam of shadow energy. Avoid this, or interrupt it before it happens.
  • Shadow Stun (Sovereign Darkness; Two-Handed Only): The enemy lunges at you, grabbing and stunning you, pulling your shadow away from your form and flinging you into one of the shadow pools. Dodge this.
  • Summoning (Singularity; Six-Handed only): The enemy summons a singularity from above, which falls into a shadow pool, inflicting moderate to large AoE damage. Targets are pulled toward this mass unless you break free (CC break), causing the singularity to evaporate. Targets pulled into the mass are pushed back, taking oblivion damage and getting knocked over.
  • Coagulation (Dark Matter; Six-Handed only): The enemy commands space and time, coagulating it at a location to deal oblivion damage. The Dark Matter then forms a number of shade apparitions (random class, with a number depending on how many are fighting the enemy), which immediately engage you.
