Description: There’s a curse on the Direnni Acropolis, and a ghost named Lauriel is said to be its source. If you can successfully exorcise her from the acropolis, you will find a new friend in Bailiff Erator.
Search the Acropolis Grounds
You’ll have to fight through a slew of Spiders and Skeletal enemies in order to reach the Keeper’s Manor in the center of the acropolis. It can be a hassle to navigate, so stick to the road and don’t try to make your own shortcuts if you want to avoid unnecessary deviations.
Explore the Catacombs
Head back down to the first floor and back out to the acropolis proper. Head straight, then go down the stairs to the lower levels of the acropolis. Head east from here and you’ll reach the entrance to the Direnni Catacombs.
Direnni Catacombs
Head down the stairs and examine the inscription on the tablet in the center of the room. Now approach the pillar and place the Golden Seal inside it, then speak with Lauriel.
Search for the Crimson Seal
After speaking with Lauriel, enter the Shattered Halls through the door behind her. Go to the bottom of the stairs, enter the room to the left, then head through the northern exit to the right.
From here, follow the path until you enter an open room with a high ceiling. In the center of the room is the Keeper’s Remains. Examine the remains to find the Crimson Seal.
Now backtrack to the first floor and place the seal in the pillar across from the first one. This unlocks the door to the west.
Find the Source of Lauriel’s Binding
Go downstairs and head through the door to Lauriel’s Crypt.
Looking at the map, this floor seems a bit harder to navigate than it actually is. If you move from bridge to bridge, you’ll have little trouble reaching the room’s other side.
Speak with Lauriel
Once you reach the center of the floor, speak with Lauriel. Take the Keeper’s Flame behind Lauriel and either burn her corpse to free her, or light the brazier behind it to imprison her once more. The choice is yours.
After making your decision, leave the Direnni Catacombs and speak with Bailiff Erator to complete the quest. You’ll earn Tomb Keeper’s Breeches for surviving the catacombs and helping the bailiff.
