Disable the Force Fields
This is a cool and cheesy set of the hottest new flick based on the comic series shown earlier in the game. You star as the leader of the Saints on a Mars mission to defeat General Killbane. To do that, you must get into his fortress, which requires you to hack three terminals to disable the force fields. Jump in the Mars rover, called the Saints Raider, and drive to the first terminal.
This is not meant to be an overly challenging mission but there are still plenty of space Luchadores to deal with. To the right of the first force field is the terminal that controls it. Waste all enemies in the area and be sure to take out the ones up on the higher ledges. Hack the terminal to drop the blue shield.
In a campy and dramatic moment, Pierce goes down during the gun battle. Run over to him to revive your homie. It is too late. Such a tragedy, especially with only two days left until his retirement.
The mission must go on, so go through the previously blocked cavern and kill the guards in the distance. Run over to the next ridge to assault a small base. Use the all-terrain Saints Raider to speed up the trip and proceed out into to the open, across a bridge.
Once again, the terminal that controls the force field is just to the right of it. Shut it down and knock out the second one.
Another Saint goes down as the shields drop. This time it is Shaundi’s turn for her close-up.
Conveniently, one homie left and there is one more force field. Drive to the next site, but this time around the terminal is on an upper walkway.
To the right of the shield are some stairs that will take you to the final terminal. As the final one falls, so does Johnny.
Enter Killbane’s Lair
The gate guarding Killbane’s lair is now vulnerable to explosive charges. Race to the outer space hideout and kill any guards.
You must plant two charges, one on each side of the gate, shown as yellow triangles on the minimap.
Run up the long bridge to storm Killbane’s fortress. The planet quakes and stuns you, temporarily halting your progress, but eventually you confront Killbane.
Killbane’s suit is coincidentally impervious to everything but the conveniently placed lava crystals inside his domain. Direct attacks won’t have any affect on him so don’t even try. Killbane chases you relentlessly, which means you need to run to get ahead of him and find one of the crystals.
If he catches you, there is no real danger. He slams you and lifts you like the Brutes but you can break free by tapping the button on the HUD.
Race ahead of Killbane and turn around to wait for him to pass by one of the lava crystals. The best part is that he throws them at you, making it even easier to set him up for some punishment.
After taking enough damage from the crystals, Killbane falls to his knees. Run up to him and press the button shown to tear off his chest plate.
Continue luring him near the crystals and blow them up in his face. The second time he goes down you shatter his helmet.
The third time is a charm and when he goes down you make sure he stays there by impaling him with a stalactite.
Killbane’s apparent death inspires a thought-provoking monologue, but you forgot the line and have to redo the scene. Eddie offers some reassuring words and Ultor resets the scene for Take 31—Happy Ending.
