Overview — Saints Row: The Third eGuide

Activities are some of the craziest, most over-the-top elements of Saints Row: The Third. One mission of each type of Activity is woven into the Campaign to whet the player’s appetite for these 56 challenging and addictive mini-missions. When the first of each type of Activity is completed, more missions of that type become available. All Activities are represented by their icons floating over the streets or sidewalks. You can help navigate to them by opening your cell phone map, filtering for Activities, and placing a GPS marker on the one you want to drive to.

Activities consist of extremely fun missions that can be enjoyed by the player at leisure, as much or as little as you want. All of these challenging excursions reward the player with cash, respect, and a percentage of control of the district in which the Activity occurred.

The cash reward is given as a lump sum for completing the task as well as a small increase in your hourly income. The hourly payout may seem small at first, but with 56 missions plus the other elements of City Takeover, such as owning property and Gang Operations, you will generate an impressive hourly cash flow.

In addition, each Activity is tied to a part of Steelport. By accomplishing an activity, you gain a percentage of control of that district, which turns Saints purple on the map to indicate your newly acquired dominion.

If you visit those districts, you’ll soon see members of your gang patrolling the streets; they can provide assistance during other missions and activities. It’s also important to remember that Activities can be done repeatedly, which makes certain events worth a lot more money the more powerful you become.

Events like “Professor Genki’s Super Ethical Reality Climax” suddenly become very lucrative money-making tools when you can walk through fire and bullets without a care in the world, and kill Brutes with near impunity.

Unlocks

Completing all occurrences of certain Activities unlocks specific Gang Customization options from your cribs and 2 of the faster vehicles in the game.

Gang Customization Options

• Cops are unlocked after all instances of Escort Kinzie are completed.

• National Guard are unlocked after all instances of Tank Mayhem are completed.

• Hos are unlocked after all instances of Snatch Hos are completed.

• Strippers are unlocked after all instances of Escort Hos are completed.

• Mascots are unlocked after all instances of Professor Genki are completed.

• Wrestlers are unlocked after all instances of Escort Tiger are completed.

New Vehicles

After completing all of Kinzie’s cyber Trail Blazing mission you will be rewarded with the 2 cyber vehicles that are the fastest in their class. The X-2 Phantom is a bike that is very reminiscent of the one used in the actual mission. The Wraith is a super slick car that is the fastest thing on wheels!

Developer’s Tips

In Tiger Escort, a good strategy is to drive on 4-lane roads.

During Helicopter Assault, lead your targets with the rockets. Shoot at where they are going, not at where they are.

Retrying any activity or mission resets any challenge progress you made back to what it was at the beginning of the activity or mission.

While in Insurance Fraud, practice ragdolling yourself while in a dive roll (sprint + jump). If timed right you can launch yourself quite far. This maneuver can be the key to success.
