Saints Row: The Third eGuide Essentials Game System

Vehicles

Vehicles

Explore the world of Steelport via ground, air, or water with a wide assortment of vehicles including cars, trucks, planes, fighter jets, helicopters, boats, and tanks.

Stealing/Hijacking Vehicles

Building upon the classic Saints Row functionality, in Saints Row: The Third, you can enter any vehicle in the world. Simply walk up to a vehicle to steal it, or perform one fluid hi-jack maneuver when sprinting.

When performed correctly, you jump into the air and smash through the vehicle’s windows or windshield, knocking out the driver and stealing the vehicle. Some vehicles may not allow you to immediately enter them and instead require that you hijack them.

Powerslide

Powersliding or drifting helps you maintain speed through a turn to make driving more fun and efficient. For best results, begin your drift shortly before the intersection. Keep holding the accelerator and the drift button at the same time, and begin your turn. Once you’re lined up with the road, release the button and resume driving normally.

Car Torpedo and Windshield Cannon

You can exit a vehicle like most people (that is, wait for it to stop before getting out) or you can do it the Saints way: Building up a lot of speed and then bailing out send the vehicle hurling toward some unsuspecting target as a car torpedo.

Also, if you are traveling at a good pace and smash into an inert object you will be thrown through the windshield. That’s not nearly as fun as the prior method but both of these techniques count toward completing challenges in the Saintsbook. Also, you can eject from any aircraft at anytime and then skydive toward Steelport.
