Saints Row: The Third eGuide Essentials Game System

Modes of Play

Campaign

This is the main story mode that encompasses the entire game. There are 47 missions in the Campaign, with 24 main story scenarios. The game follows a somewhat linear path, but there are many arcs that provide the player choices of which mission they want to complete first. However, all arcs eventually converge to make one cohesive and very enjoyable story line. One of the things that makes Saints Row: The Third special is the vast choices it gives its players. Even in the Campaign there are special options at the end of several missions called Player’s Choice. These present you with two possible outcomes to the mission and leave it in the hands of the player to guide the story. In fact, the final Player’s Choice even allows you to choose between two endings.

Co-Op

Two players may play the entire single-player campaign from start to finish. They are both given full, unrestricted access to the entire world and are free to cooperatively utilize all the vehicles, weapons and options however they wish in their struggle to take over the city. Both players are required to work together when playing missions and activities, but they are free to do their own thing during all other forms of other gameplay. Victory or failure is judged upon the actions of both players in this mode. If one player fails or dies, both players lose. In Co-op mode, players can even turn against each other in a special minigame of Cat and Mouse.

Whored Mode

One or two players can tackle this form of survival that is made up of 30 waves for each map. Chose from three different maps and five characters for some insane and hilarious challenges. If you thought some of the Activities and Diversions were wacky, you’ll find that this mode takes the cake and shoves it in your face. This mode is not to be missed and, best of all, it saves your progress for each map so you can jump in at any time!
