Mission 12: Hit the Powder Room

Cash Earned: $6,000

Respect Earned: 1,500

Find a Way Upstairs

It’s time to hit the Syndicate hard and find out where Phillipe is hiding. Shaundi is fuming and ready to burn the Syndicate’s designer gun store to the ground. She will join you and Pierce at Powder and lead the charge into the warehouse. She wipes out the first couple of guards blocking the back entrance. Run around the building to the right and hop over the concrete barriers to enter the adjacent alley that acts as a loading dock. Mow down any guards in your way and go to the left of the barriers to get into the alley. Run around the back of a flatbed truck to the right to enter the warehouse.

This place is filled with Morningstar and, as Shaundi points out, they have snipers as well. The Morningstar sniper is a unique enemy that is very dangerous and is considered a specialist. Obviously this makes them the primary targets. The specialists have no hair and a long red coat, but usually before you spot them you will see a long red line from the laser sights of their gun. Stay in the doorway for some initial protection and blast the guards directly in your way. At the first opportunity go for the first specialist on the upper levels in front of you.

Move forward and turn left to find another specialist on the catwalk above. Use the large crates for cover and when the sniper pops his head out, eliminate him. Follow the blue marker on-screen and run to a set of blue double doors. Enter the long room and take out the three guards lurking inside. Run up to the next set of double doors to meet a new hulking enemy.

Search for the Manager’s Office

If the Brute wasn’t physically intimidating enough, this new version—the Minigun Brute is downright scary. The minigun is a enormous Gatling gun that can cover a larger area with gunfire at a great distance. Worse yet, this type of Brute is partially covered with bulletproof armor, so aim for his head! The major drawback of the minigun is that the person firing it must be stationary. Also, the large gun makes it difficult for its owner to move. Exploit the Minigun Brute’s lack of mobility and keep circling around him to avoid his line of fire. Another and faster approach to drop this behemoth is to use explosives because he can’t move very much. The minigun is a great weapon if its user is partially covered, but with the Brute out in the open he’s a sitting duck.

When his health has run out, get in close to finish him off and pick up the minigun yourself. This triggers a new wave of Morningstar and they make excellent target practice for your new toy. Unfortunately, this gun is a temporary weapon that can be used only for this mission, but it is extremely fun to blaze through enemies so hold on to it as long as you can.

Go Upstairs to Raid the Computers

When you’ve had your fun with the minigun, it’s time to get back to the mission of locating the manager’s office to retrieve the location of Phillipe. The area is still filled with guards on the upper walkway but it is difficult to assault them from the first floor. Instead, follow the blue indicator to an open red door and go upstairs to take the battle directly to them.

Stick close to the wall’s edge for some cover and light up the guards across from you. It is difficult to target some of the guards on the opposite side of the building. When the action seems to slow, go around the corner to the left and make a dash for small room that provides some cover.

Pierce and Shaundi come upstairs and help wipe out some of the threat. With their help you should be able to charge into the rest of the guards and follow the perimeter of the walkway leading to the office.

As Shaundi tries to hack the manager’s computer, it is up to you and Pierce to hold off the resurgent wave of Morningstar. Watch the yellow hacking bar in the upper-left corner to monitor Shaundi’s progress. Don’t run out into the open where Pierce is standing. Let him take the macho position while you hang out in the corner to get some cover. Be sure to take out the sniper below you.
