Saints Row: The Third eGuide Essentials Game System

Cash, Respect and Rank

The economy of Saints Row: The Third runs on cash and respect. Both can be earned in numerous ways, such as by playing the Campaign, completing Activities and diversions, finding collectibles, and even by picking up dropped cash from fallen enemies.

These two resources are the valuable commodities every player wants to maximize. Each time you earn cash or respect it is displayed in the upper right-hand corner.

Cash

Cash is used to purchase everything, including clothes, weapons, and upgrades. Many of your purchases, like clothes and car upgrades, will in turn reward you with respect. In addition, there are several options in the Upgrade app that allow you to buy respect for cash. Completing missions and various task will earn cash, but one of the best ways to make money is to take over parts of Steelport.

Each of the three aspects of City Takeover earns you an hourly income that adds up fast when combined with bonus multipliers. One of the fastest ways to earn money is to repeatedly perform a barnstorming stunt while flying sideways for the 2x multiplier. You can earn several thousand dollars in a few seconds, and after a very brief wait, repeat it as many times as you like.

Respect

Respect is an experience system that determines your rank, which ultimately decides what upgrades you can get. While you pay for upgrades with cash, you must achieve specific levels of rank to meet the requirement to buy them.

Therefore, even if you have lots of money you may still need to perform tasks and complete missions to achieve the rank required to make an upgrade purchase. Once the Saints’ HQ is accessible, one of the best ways to earn respect and increase rank is to perform base jumps from the HQ.

Jump from the side of the building, nail a base jump, and ride to elevator to the penthouse to repeat.

his table displays the respect required to achieve each new rank and the total respect needed for levels 1–49. (1-49)
