Meet the New Boss
After the unsuccessful bank heist, the Saints end up in the slammer. They are actually shocked to be in jail because they had paid off the cops, but apparently someone else has paid more. The Syndicate is the new name in town, a large criminal empire that is about to make the Saints an offer they can’t refuse.
The Saints are kidnapped aboard the plane of Phillipe Loren, the leader of the Morningstar, and are being flown to the Syndicate base in Steelport. Even though the Saints are bound and seemingly helpless, nobody tells the Saints what to do. They bust loose and show the Syndicate how they earned their respect.
Kill the Guards and Escape
While Johnny tries to hijack the plane, you must fight your way through the aircraft and find a way to escape. The plane is filled with Syndicate guards and you start this mission unarmed. The first few encounters provide an opportunity try out the melee system with light and heavy physical strikes.
This is a good time to practice chaining moves together and even perform running attacks. Check out the combat section in the game system chapter to learn the ins and outs of hand-to-hand fighting. As you beat up the guards look for the on-screen button indicators. If you press the corresponding button to the one that is shown on the screen, the attack will do more damage and garner more respect for the kill.
Take out the initial wave of guards and open the door. Follow the blue on-screen guide to get a parachute to make your escape. Grab the first guard you encounter and take him as a human shield. From this high vantage point, eliminate as many guards as possible on the upper walkway and below you.
Run down the metal stairs and take cover between the cars, but look out for the guards hiding around the corners. For extra protection, grab one of the guards as a shield and work your way past the crates and cars, shooting everyone in sight. If you can’t wrangle a volunteer to serve as your shield, stay close to the edges of the crates for additional cover.
Catch Shaundi and Kill the Pursuers
Pay attention to the red arrows to locate the falling guards and flip over if you are having a hard time tracking some of them. You can shoot the falling assailants directly or can try to unload on a nearby vehicle and finish them with an explosive demise.
As you continue falling, fight a few more waves of enemies and catch Shaundi again. Dodge the cars and crates that are in your path and grab the girl. Your reunion is short-lived as the plane turns in your direction to ram you head on. Shoot the plane’s window and watch as you fly right through the aircraft. When you emerge on the opposite side, resume your onslaught of the free-falling foes. Dispatch one more wave and grab Shaundi for a final rescue.
