The Monster’s role is pretty clear: kill everything and survive. If the battle runs longer, the Monster only grows in strength as time goes on, gaining a sizeable advantage in the final stage of evolution. How the Monster chooses to play sets the pace of the entire match.
There are three distinctly different Monsters: the Goliath, the Kraken, and the Wraith. Each class is suited to a different style of combat, giving some of them an edge in certain game modes. Although one Monster may be better than another in a certain mode or map, the main component to being a good Monster is player skill.
Unlike the Hunters, the Monster is left to fight alone, forcing it to learn quickly without the help of a team. The following three sections break down effective use of abilities, as well as strengths and weaknesses against each class of Hunter.
