Evolve Official Strategy Guide HUNTER Medic

Val

“Point it at the Monster, pull the trigger. Up to you guys to do the rest.” — Val

Sniper and Medic: two jobs that normally don’t show up on the same résumé. Then again, Val doesn’t apply for just any type of position. Her Armor-Piercing Sniper Rifle and Hunter-healing MedGun are the perfect qualifications for someone stalking prey the size of a small asteroid.

Loadout

Val is the ultimate Medic for any team looking to take down a giant Monster. She has great healing skills, along with the ability to weaken and slow down the target. Take full advantage of her entire loadout. Equip the Quick Switch Perk to cycle between them faster.

Armor-Piercing Sniper Rifle

Mastery Reward: Increased Damage

Damage per Bullet:140

Weak Spot Damage Multiplier:2X

Ammo Capacity: 1 Round

Val’s Armor-Piercing Sniper Rifle punches a hole in the Monster’s armor, creating a weak spot for fellow Hunters to aim for. Tap the Primary button to equip the rifle, and squeeze the Fire button to fire the shot. The gun must be reloaded between every shot, so the fire rate is pretty slow.

The sniper rifle is extremely accurate, especially when using the scope. Hold down the Aim button to zoom in on your target. This allows you to place your targets wherever you please.

Hitting wildlife or the Monster with the Armor-Piercing Sniper Rifle places a circular target on the enemy. The other Hunters can hit this mark to deal twice the damage. These weak points pair nicely with high-powered guns like the Rail Cannon.

When the Monster is first found and the Mobile Arena is deployed, hit it with as many shots from your sniper rifle as you can before switching over to MedGun duty.

MedGun

Mastery Reward: Increased Capacity

Heal Rate: 10% per Second

Maximum Range: 60 Meters

Max Fire Duration: 25 Seconds

The MedGun allows Val to perform her primary role from almost anywhere on the battlefield. Press the Secondary button to equip the device, face your injured target, and squeeze the trigger to fire the regenerative ray. It continues healing the character until you release the button.

Val just needs to be facing toward a hurt teammate. Squeeze the trigger, and the gun auto aims at the character closest to your reticle. You do need to have a clear line of sight on the injured Hunter in order to heal.

Because of the MedGun’s easy aim, Val can quickly spin around and start healing an ally. With multiple characters injured, give each one a short heal to keep them from being incapped.

You can use the MedGun to revive an incapacitated Hunter. As the Hunter bleeds out, fire the device his or her way. If the Monster is pounding on the downed Hunter, the process essentially pauses. With the foe out of the way, the Hunter will be revived once the skull icon is filled completely.

Tranquilizer Gun

Mastery Reward: Increased Duration

Slow Effect Duration: 5 Seconds

Fire Rate: 70 Rounds per Minute

Ammo Capacity: 3 Rounds

A successful hit with the Tranquilizer Gun slows a Monster down and highlights it for a short time. Tap the Equipment button to switch to the gun, and then discharge the weapon with the Fire button. The gun holds three darts at a time. The Reload button tops it off at any time.

The fire rate is fairly slow and has a long reload time, so aim carefully. Hold down the Aim button to aim down the sights for a more accurate shot.

The Tranquilizer Gun is very effective against the Kraken and Wraith. Hitting the former with a tranq causes it to fall to the ground, while slowing the latter down takes away its valuable speed. As a bonus, it reveals their location as they hide behind obstacles for a short while.

As the Mobile Arena is about to come down, hit the Monster with a tranquilizer dart. This makes it easier for the team to track the beast.
