“This is a good plan. This is the BEST plan.” — MARKOV
We all have dreams. Markov’s just happens to be dying in glorious battle. This explains his desire to go toe-to-toe with giant Monsters. But his deadly arsenal consisting of a Lightning Gun, Arc Mines, and an impenetrable Personal Shield means that dream may never come true—and that’s just fine with his fellow Hunters.

“It will run at first … because it knows we are stronger!” — MARKOV
Loadout
Markov’s two guns are the powerful Lightning Gun and the longer-range Assault Rifle. Switch between the two while the other cools down. Combine these with his Arc Mines, and he can deal some serious damage. Don’t forget about the Personal Shield, as it can save the day while fighting the Monster.
Lightning Gun
Mastery Reward: Increased Range
Damage: 150/sec
Max fire duration: 5 seconds
Maximum Range: 22.5 meters
The Lightning Gun is an energy weapon that does substantial damage and chain-attacks nearby foes. Press the Primary button to select the gun, and then squeeze the Fire button to let the bolt fly. Use this weapon as much as possible, as it inflicts the greatest damage.
Because the lightning chains between nearby foes, the gun is extremely useful against packs of wildlife such as the Blitzleopards and Trapjaws. This also makes it great in Defend mode when facing the Monster and its two minions.
The Lightning Gun deals out a good amount of damage, but it is also great for finding a hidden Monster. The trigger can be held down as you run around, and as long as nothing is nearby, it does not fire. Once you get within range of a creature or the Monster, it targets the foe, though it significantly slows the Hunter down.
Assault Rifle
Mastery Reward: Increased Accuracy
Damage per Bullet: 20
Fire Rate: 480 Rounds per Minute
Ammo capacity: 48 Rounds
The Assault Rifle is the long-range weapon of choice for Markov. Press the Secondary button to equip the gun, and then squeeze the Fire button to shoot bullets at a high rate of speed. Press the Reload button to top off the ammo whenever possible.
Use the Assault Rifle as you move into range of the Lightning Gun or while you’re waiting for it to cool down. This weapon is ideal at long range when the Monster is first spotted or as it flees the Hunters.
Arc Mines
Mastery Reward: Increased Damage
Damage: 630
Trigger Radius: 4 Meters
Maximum Toss Distance: 7 Meters
Arc Mines are powerful explosives that can be used for damage, crowd control, or defense. Press the Equipment button to equip the mines, and then tap the Fire button to lay the explosive down. You can emplace five mines at once. Blue dashes under your reticle indicate how many have been placed so far. Place a sixth mine, and the first one disappears. Small red domes over each one indicate their blast radius. When the Monster, a minion, or wildlife gets too close, they are hit with the explosion.
There are a number of uses for the Arc Mines, but note that there is a short delay before it is set. Don’t expect to throw one at the Monster and have it explode on contact.
Toss these down at choke points and around objectives to get easy damage on the Monster and minions. Note that the Monster can destroy the mines, though. Hide them near walls, in the foliage, or on the cliffs above. Put some distance between them. With all five in a small area, the Goliath can eliminate them all with one shot of his Fire Breath.
Arc Mines can be very effective in combat. Throw them down in the open, and call them out to your team. Players can move behind them when in trouble, luring the Monster into the explosives.
When you’re roaming the environment on your own, the Arc Mine can be a great defense against the Monster’s Pounce. Equip the explosive when an ambush may be expected. As soon as you notice the move, drop it, and the explosion releases you from the grasp.
