Hunter Objective: Save the Shear Colonists by Protecting the Evacuation Ship
Monster Objective: Destroy the Colonists and the Evacuation Ship
Evacuation mode pits the four Hunters against the Monster in five rounds, or days, of gameplay. The first round is always Hunt mode on any of the main 12 maps. For the next three rounds, the players vote on two options, which can be Hunt, Rescue, or Nest mode. These take place on an adjacent map to the previous day. It is possible to get the same map in both options. Refer to the map above to see how the maps connect.
The players continue making their way across the map until the fifth and final round, which is a game of Defend. This one takes place on one of the four special maps. By getting a majority of the votes, it is possible to force the game toward a favorite Defend map. No matter where the Evacuation game begins, any of the four Defend maps is accessible.
After each day, based on how well each side performed, the Colony Status is given—displaying the number of people that the Hunters saved and the number that the Monster killed. The winning side typically ends up with the bigger number, as the colonies are tallied after each round.
The next screen shows the Auto Balance, as the loser of the previous round gets a nudge in their favor. The advantage may bounce back and forth between even teams, or a dominant squad may always have the balance against them. It is possible to lose the first four days and go into the Defend stage with full favor, but your team will always have a disadvantage with the map effects.
Based on which side won the previous round and where it took place, a map effect is added to the next day. If the Monster won, it favors the beast, and vice versa. Each map has a selection of possible effects. Refer to the Map chapter for a full rundown of each location, along with the map effects that can take place at each. Final round map effects are always Armored Sentry Guns for Hunters and Extra Armor for the Monster.
