Evolve Official Strategy Guide HUNTER TRAINING

Team Play

When playing on the Hunter side, it is best to work as a team. Keep track of your teammates’ locations, and be cognizant of what is going on around you. Certain combinations go well together, but it is often best to go in with the character you are most comfortable with.

Become familiar with all of the Hunters and their loadouts. This way, you can anticipate other players’ moves and know when and where to use your own. For example, if Lazarus is on your team, you should refrain from reviving another player—unless, of course, it is Lazarus who needs saving.

Avoid straying away from the group. Monsters can easily take you out with a Sneak Pounce. Plus, if a creature or carnivorous plant swallows you, there is no one around to save you.

Splitting up in groups of two is a great strategy when looking for your target, but be sure that the other half of the team isn’t too far away, or a Monster may take care of your half before help arrives.

Communication

Communication is extremely important. Calling out any sightings and needs goes a long way in taking down the Monster. For example, letting the team know when Assault’s Personal Shield is used lets Hank know that he doesn’t need to waste his Shield Projector on him.

Speak up when helpful skills are available, such as healing, speed boost, or cloaking. As Hank, announcing an Orbital Barrage keeps teammates from being surprised when they are knocked away from the fight.

Marking Wildlife and the Monster

Use the Mark Waypoint skill often to alert the team to nearby wildlife and the Monster. Similarly, take advantage of equipment such as Abe’s Tracking Darts and Cabot’s Dust Tagging whenever available to spot any creatures.

Group Roles

Each Hunter has a role to play within the group. Assault is about getting in the Monster’s face and dealing out damage. The Trapper leads the team in tracking the Monster and (as the title implies) pins it down when the Hunters are within range. The Medic keeps the group alive while staying out of harm’s way. Support assists the rest of the team while dealing his own share of damage.

Forgetting to throw the Mobile Arena or losing track of a teammate as the Medic can be the difference in winning and losing. Know your part, and stick to it whenever possible.
