A Monster can attain two different types of Perks in the game. There are a few Perks that are the same between Hunters and Monsters, but Perks like Feeding Speed and Smell Range are Monster-specific.
Permanent Perks
You select permanent Perks at the start of the match. These are unlocked and upgraded as you level up. For a full breakdown on the levels required for the different Perks, consult the Player Progression chapter.
A Monster player should select a Perk based off of the current game mode and the style they choose to play. For example, when playing in Rescue mode, Movement Speed or Stamina Increase can help the Monster quickly descend on the survivors and eliminate them before the Hunters even get close.
For a mode like Hunt, choosing Armor Regeneration or Feeding Speed helps a Monster spend less time searching for food and more time searching for the Hunters.
Players seeking to gain an edge in combat should chose Damage Bonus or Cooldown Reduction. Damage Bonus boosts the overall damage output of melee attacks and the Monster’s abilities. Cooldown Reduction helps Monsters like Kraken constantly use their abilities, keeping the Hunters on their toes and forced to dodge each attack.
| Perk | Bonus | Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Armor Regeneration | Armor regeneration increase | 15% | 30% | 50% |
| Climb Speed | Climb speed increase | N/A | N/A | 30% |
| Cooldown Reduction | Abilities recharge faster | 15% | 20% | 30% |
| Damage Bonus | Increased damage output | 5% | 10% | 15% |
| Damage Resistance | Reduce incoming damage | 5% | 10% | 15% |
| Feeding Speed | Increased feeding rate | 25% | 50% | 75% |
| Movement Speed | Top movement speed increase | 10% | 15% | 20% |
| Smell Range | Increased Smell radius | 25% | 50% | 75% |
| Stamina Increase | Traversal stamina recharges faster | 15% | 30% | 50% |
Temporary Buffs
You can acquire temporary Buffs by consuming an Elite (Albino) creature. Not all Buffs are available on every map, as some animals only inhabit certain biomes. Partially consuming a creature grants the Buff, but completely consuming the creature takes the Buff away from the Hunters. The Monster can still consume Elite (Albino) creatures that the Hunters have killed for a Buff. The current Buff displays at the top-right area of the Monster’s HUD.

| Armadon | 35% damage resistance increase |
