Evolve is an asymmetrical, multiplayer first-person shooter played by five players—four Hunters against one Monster. In the primary Hunt mode, Hunters are dropped into a wild environment, where they must hunt down and kill the giant before it defeats them. Each player has a unique role in the group, as the team must work together to take down the foe.
The fifth player takes the role of the Monster, feeding on a variety of wildlife as it flees from the pursuers. With enough energy saved up, it evolves into a tougher Stage 2 version, which evens out the fight against the Hunters. Reach the ultimate Stage 3, and the odds turn to the big guy’s favor. At any time, though, the beast can employ its skills against the puny humans.
A selection of characters, perks, modes, maps, and map effects offer a nice variety in gameplay. Play alone with computer-controlled bots, or take your skills online and hunt your friends and fellow gamers.
You can play Evolve on your own, with friends, and with online players through matchmaking. The game is played with four other players, either human or AI-controlled. Select Solo if you wish to go it alone, or Multiplayer when you want to go online. Either way, you earn XP after each game, which in turn unlocks more characters, perks, skins, and badges.
