Hunter Objective: Destroy All Six Eggs or Minions, or Kill the Monster
Monster Objective: Eliminate the Hunters before the Eggs or Minions are Destroyed
Six eggs are scattered around the map, as noted on the map and on your heads-up display. The Hunters must destroy the eggs within 10 minutes, or the Monster wins. Simply attack the outer shell until it flakes off, and then destroy the egg. A bar above designates the health of the egg. Ensure that it is completely demolished before moving on. The Monster can use an egg no matter how damaged it is.
In the meantime, the Monster can hatch a minion from an egg by standing nearby and holding the Eat/Climb button. This eliminates one of the eggs, which benefits the Hunters, but the minion heads straight for the Hunters. Only one minion can be hatched at a time. Once the Hunters kill it, another can be grabbed from an egg. If all six eggs or the minions hatched from them are destroyed, the Monster loses.
Hunter Strategy
The team must make a choice when the game starts. Do you make a run for the Monster and take it out before it reaches Stage 2, or do you concentrate on destroying the eggs? The Monster typically goes after the closest egg and hatches it. This gives away its location, but more than likely, a minion joins the beast.
If the team decides to take out the eggs, head to the closest one. Numbers underneath the egg’s health bar indicate the distance from that objective; the smaller the number, the closer it is. Once the shell of an egg is broken, you can place weak spots on the surface for added bonus. With Bucket, place Sentry Guns near an egg, and let them take one out while the team works on another.
Another tactic is to have the Trapper capture the Monster in the Mobile Arena away from any eggs, while the rest of the team destroys the eggs. The unlucky Hunter inside the dome must run and hide to avoid causing the arena to fall.
Monster Strategy
Use the Smell ability to find nearby wildlife and feed on their corpses. Evolve once the opportunity arises, head for the closest egg, and hatch a minion. The minion heads straight for the Hunters, so follow him there. Continue to feed on any creature you find along the way to build up armor. Assist your helper, and take the Hunter squad down.
