Evolve Official Strategy Guide HUNTER ASSAULT

Parnell

“Just glad I’m not in charge of this bunch of lunatics.” — Parnell

The fact that Parnell packs a Combat Shotgun and Rocket Launcher proves how committed he is to obliterating uncooperative wildlife. His Super Soldier ability cranks up the violence by vastly amplifying his damage output. If you need to kill something, you call on Parnell.

Parnell carries a couple weapons into battle: the Combat Shotgun and the Multifire Rocket Launcher. The former requires getting in nice and close to deal the damage, so his Personal Shield becomes really important. Flip on the Super Soldier ability to turn it up a notch. When out of range, the fully automatic launcher becomes the gun of choice to continue the barrage.

“Evacuating a whole colony in five days… This is nuts.”— Parnell

Combat Shotgun

Mastery Reward: Increased Damage

Damage per pellet: 14

Fire Rate: 170 Rounds per Minute

Ammo Capacity: 10 Rounds/80 Pellets

Parnell’s shotgun deals some serious damage at a close range. Press the Primary button to equip the gun, and then squeeze the Fire button to fill your foe with some buckshot. You can refill ammo at any time by pressing the Reload button. The weapon is fully automatic, with 10 shells in each clip.

As with Markov and Hyde, Parnell has a high damage, close-range weapon that requires him to get in close with the Monster. Be ready with your Personal Shield as you put the hurt on the Monster.

To continue your attack, make sure to switch to the longer-range Rocket Launcher when farther away. Parnell is limited to his two weapons, so there will be some down time, making Reload Speed a good Perk choice.

The Combat Shotgun is ideal when hunting the Monster since it takes care of most wildlife with ease. However, as you near a Monster’s location, it is best to have the Rocket Launcher ready to get some early shots on the foe.

Unless you have a teammate who can bring the Kraken down, the Combat Shotgun is not very effective against the flying Monster. Switch to the Rocket Launcher to hit the distant foe, or jet pack to higher points to get in range.

Multifire Rocket Launcher

Mastery Reward: Increased Damage

Damager per Rocket: 90

Fire rate: 100 Rounds per Minute

Ammo Capacity: 5 Rockets

The Multifire Rocket Launcher gives Parnell a long-range option with decent damage output. The Secondary button equips the launcher, and then the Fire button shoots the explosives. This weapon is fully automatic, with five available rockets before you must reload. You can click the Reload button at any time to top it off.

As you get in range for the more powerful Combat Shotgun, or when the Monster retreats, use the Multifire Rocket Launcher to keep the attacks going from mid to long range.

These rockets fire in a straight line, so aim well. An alert foe can dodge many of your shots, but the continued barrage will reach your target as you move your reticle with the beast. Use the blast radius of the explosive to full effect by aiming at the beast’s feet or a nearby wall.

This is the weapon of choice against the high-flying Kraken, as he is frequently out of the Combat Shotgun’s range. Keep the rockets coming to weaken the beast.

“If that’s true, then we’ll have plenty of job offers after this. And plenty of chances to learn more about these things.”— Parnell

Super Soldier

Mastery Reward: Increased Duration

Bonuses: 80% Increase in Fire Rate, 40% Increase in Reload Speed, 30% Increase in Sprint Speed, 300% Increase in Jump Height

Cooldown: 30 Seconds

Duration: 9 seconds

Utilizing the Super Soldier ability causes Parnell to move faster and gives his weapons a quicker fire rate, though at a small cost to his health. This significantly increases the damage that is done. Tap the Equipment button to use this skill. At first, it only lasts for three seconds, but max out Character Mastery, and it increases to nine seconds.

“On the other hand, Eisenhower said, ‘Plans are useless, but planning is indispensible.”— Parnell

When fighting the Monster, use this whenever available to maximize your damage output. Avoid using it when low on health, as it could knock you out. Team up with a good Medic who can keep you in the game longer.

This ability is best used in open areas where you have a clean shot at the Monster. Give yourself plenty of room to dodge incoming attacks as you quickly unload your ammo into the foe.

Like the Personal Shield, Super Soldier requires good timing to get the most out of it. It doesn’t help to have the faster reload and movement if you can’t get a shot on the Monster or if you don’t have room to dodge incoming attacks.
