Skipping Class

How to Play

Hold the Wii Remote sideways.
Press 2 or up, down, left, or right on the D-Pad in the order shown onscreen from left to right.

You’ve got to think and act fast in Skipping Class, a speed-based button-input minigame where your goal is to perform sick tricks with a jump rope. Quickly input the buttons that appear onscreen to bust out those combos and serve your opponents with your mad rope-jumping skills!

You have just seconds to input each string of buttons, so watch the screen carefully and bang out those moves. Speed is key, because the first player to complete each combo will earn extra points! Don’t go so fast that you make a mistake—you won’t score at all if you hit the wrong button during a sequence. And that’s just not cool!

Tip

Don’t pay too much attention to your Wii Remote controller’s sound effects as you hit the buttons—they sometimes lag behind the action. Just input those commands as fast as you can to perform each combo with blistering speed!

There are seven stages to Skipping Class, each one more difficult than the last. At first the button combos are pretty simple to punch in, but they soon become longer and more challenging. Your rope-jumping tricks become increasingly impressive as well. Take a moment to enjoy those cool moves after each successful string!

Skipping Class isn’t just fun, but it’s also great exercise—for your thumbs, that is! This is one of the easier and more enjoyable combo-crunching minigames in Mario Party 9, because you only need to worry about pressing the four direction buttons on g and 2, all of which are within easy reach. Practice your skills and whip that rope around like nobody’s business!
