Bowser Jr. is slightly faster than you and your partner, so you need a strategy to snare him. The trick to beating Bowser Jr. lies in using both sides of the fence.
One player should immediately move to the nearest cage door and press 1 to punch it.
This flips that player over to the fence’s opposite side, letting you team up and approach Jr. from both angles.
The player who’s on the same side of the cage as Jr. should track the little pest down. The other player can’t catch Jr. from the opposite side of the fence, but they can press 1 to punch the cage and stun Jr. for a brief time.
This is an important part of the Cage Match minigame, because stunning Jr. gives the pursuing player the precious seconds they need to catch up and secure the win!
