Hazard Hold

How to Play: Solo Player

Hold the Wii Remote sideways. Press the D-pad to face the different switches. Press 2 to activate the switch you’re facing.

How to Play: Rivals

Hold the Wii Remote sideways. Press the D-pad to move and 2 to jump.

Horrific hazards abound in Hazard Hold, a unique 1-vs.-Rivals event that has the solo player attempting to zap, fry, and blow away his or her rivals with a variety of dastardly traps!

Dispatching every rival earns the solo player the win, while the rivals must simply strive to stay alive until time expires.

The secret to the solo player’s success lies in staggering the traps so that the rivals have little hope of escape.

After pressing one of the three colored trap buttons, the solo player must wait a bit before they light up and can be used again.

The wind attack regenerates the fastest, followed by the fire attack, and then the electricity attack. Get into a rhythm and unleash those traps over and over to fill the room with all sorts of chaos!

When playing on the team of rivals, you must pay close attention to those traps and be ready to flee the moment they activate.

Jump to dodge the lethal electricity that spreads across the floor, and run away to avoid everything else. You can’t jump over the fire jets or wind gusts, so make sure you’re not standing in their path!

Tip

Pay attention to the fan at the top of the room. The direction in which the fan faces clues you in to the path that its wind gusts will travel!

Hazard Hold is no joke for the rivals. Luckily, this deadly event ends for them after just 30 seconds. Strive to survive by finding safe hiding spots and scurrying out of harm’s way the moment a trap is triggered.

Rely on the traps’ reload times to catch your breath and try to anticipate when the next one will be activated. Only one rival needs to survive, so split up to make yourselves more difficult to hit.

Tip

Keeping near the outside walls is a good way to avoid most of Hazard Hold’s dangers.
