Mario Party 9 Guide › Walkthrough › Bowser Jr. Minigames

Double Pounder

How to Play

Hold the Wii Remote sideways.

Press D-Pad to move, 2 to jump, and 2 while jumping to perform a ground-pound.

In this Bowser Jr. minigame, you must work closely with your teammate to achieve victory.

Ground-pound all of the colored switches in the playing area as fast as you can, but make sure to hit those switches at the same time as your partner, or it won’t count!

Start by sprinting over to any color switch you like. Wait for your partner to step onto the matching switch, then perform a coordinated ground-pound to shut both switches off.

You and your teammate need to come crashing down on your respective switches at the same moment in order to shut them off.

Repeat this with all four sets of switches to pull the plug on Jr.’s chances of victory!

If you’re playing with a computer-controlled teammate, hitting the switches is a total breeze—the computer will anticipate your moves, so just jump up high and then hit 2 to slam down with a ground-pound.

However, when playing with a real buddy, it helps to coordinate your efforts through verbal communication.

Stand over both of your switches, then count out loud: one, two, jump! Press 2 at the height of your jumps to ensure a well-timed ground-pound every time.

Double Pounder is probably the easiest and most straightforward Bowser Jr. minigame, so pick this one every time the little guy gives you the option.

You have a whole 30 seconds to trigger just four pairs of switches, so take your time and pound each pair properly!
