Step It Up is a neat little minigame mode in which up to four players compete in a series of minigames. Each time a player wins a game, they’ll climb a little ways up a long flight of stairs.
The first one to step up their game and reach the top wins!
You have control of a few important options during Step It Up. First, decide how many victories will be needed to reach the top of the stairs: three, five, or seven.
The more wins you require, the longer and more exciting the Step It Up event will be!
Next, decide the type of minigame you wish to play. You can choose to play Free-for-All minigames or 1-vs.-Rivals minigames.
The first option allows for lots of variety, because there are 44 different Free-for-All events! While there are only 10 1-vs.-Rivals minigames, these can add extra drama to Step It Up mode, because competing players will be forced to work together on the same team!
The turn order is randomly determined at the start of Step It Up, and a special minigame wheel is spun each turn to randomly determine the event you’ll play.
When it’s your turn to spin the wheel, be quick to press A and try to stop on an event that you want.
Best your rivals more often than not to scale those steps and celebrate your rise to glory!
