Overview

Starting with Mission 4, Argent Facility, two Trial Stones appear on the map. By interacting with one, you attempt a Rune Trial—a short test such as killing enemies with a specific weapon or collecting a certain number of items (all within a time limit). The trials end in Mission 9, Lazarus Labs.

Completing each trial earns a Rune that can be equipped in the Dossier. These Runes provide valuable bonuses that can tip a battle in your favor. Each one can also be upgraded by completing a Challenge.

You start with one slot, but after completing a certain number of trials, more can be equipped. Select the Rune tab in the Dossier to see how many slots are available and which Runes you’ve collected. You can also check your progress toward upgrading each Rune. Note that a Rune must be equipped to make any progress.
