Access the Map
After finding the Elite Guard and dropping to the surface, move further down the path and descend another level. Look at the map and spot the Field Drone icon on an upper ledge. If you’ve already approached this Drone, it may have moved further ahead. Just below its original location, a crate blocks an entrance. Turn around and find an opening in the cage on the left. Enter and pull the lever found inside. This removes the blockage, revealing the first Classic Map.
Map Strategy
As the first level of DOOM II, this map is relatively short and straightforward. You start with only the Pistol, so immediately turn around and collect the Chainsaw. Follow the hall all the way down and turn right. Continue through the big room to find the exit on the left.
