Power Weapons

Power weapons spawn on the map after 1:45 and respawn 1:45 after their ammo is depleted.

Each map has one power weapon (BFG, Chainsaw, or Gauss Cannon) that will spawn in a specific location after a set period of time (10 seconds after the Demon Rune spawns). These weapons are extremely powerful but have very limited ammunition. They can tilt the battle in favor of the team that secures the weapon, but care must be taken when going for the pickup, as you can be sure that the opposition will have their guns pointed at the spawn point. Power weapons, particularly the BFG and Gauss Cannon, can greatly assist in taking down a demon.

Power weapons do not replace your loadout weapons. Switching to a different weapon will cause you to drop the power weapon on the floor, where another player can acquire it. Ammo for power weapons cannot be replenished. Listen for the announcer to alert players to the Demon Rune having spawned, and know that the power weapon will appear in 10 seconds.

BFG 9000

Fire a giant burst of Argent Plasma that explodes on impact and untethers itself when fired to hit all enemies near its path. Tendril beams deal 15 damage and have a range of 450 units.

Maps Available: Excavation, Heatwave, and Perdition

Ammo Capacity: 4

BFG 9000

200 0.67 432 275 Direct Hit

The BFG—a very large gun—fires a projectile that not only inflicts 275 DMG to an enemy directly hit by the weapon’s Argent Plasma, but also deals varying damage to all adversaries along its path. The BFG is an exceptional weapon to use in corridors or relatively confined spaces where numerous foes have gathered, as even those enemies on the periphery of the weapon’s range will repeatedly suffer at least 15 DMG as the projectile passes.

Most will perish! Unlike the Gauss Cannon, the BFG does not require much accuracy when you’re firing it. Unfortunately, the BFG does have a slower firing rate than the Gauss Cannon. Avoid firing the BFG at close-range enemies or into nearby obstacles or walls, as the blast could be self-damaging.

Chainsaw

Rips enemy players to shreds! Each use grants the player the ability to automatically Glory Kill any enemy it hits. Increases movement speed by 22%.

Maps Available: Disposal, Helix, and Infernal

Ammo Capacity: 6

Chainsaw

120 1.67 - - -

Securing the Chainsaw grants you a large movement bonus, making it that much easier to chase down enemies for a melee kill. Pull the trigger to rev and swing the Chainsaw when close to an adversary for a guaranteed Glory Kill. Holding the trigger swings the Chainsaw back and forth in a crisscross pattern, Glory Killing any foe within close range. Each swing of the Chainsaw consumes one of its ammo blocks. The Chainsaw is a lot of fun to use—and highly effective—but you must remember that you are defenseless against attacks from enemies at range. Move erratically and use the speed boost that the weapon confers to close the gap quickly. Seek out opponents who are unaware of your position, as well as those who are wielding long-range weapons.

Gauss Cannon

Fires a high-velocity concentrated beam. An extremely powerful weapon but requires precision to be used effectively. Projectiles continue on through enemies.

Maps Available: Beneath, Chasm, and Sacrilegious

Ammo Capacity: 4

Gauss Cannon
DMGROFSplash RadiusCrit DMGCrit Method
125 0.8 75 150 Direct Hit

The Gauss Cannon can inflict 150 DMG on a direct hit, making it capable of delivering a one-shot kill to any enemy who didn’t just acquire a Mega-Health pickup. Unlike the BFG, the Gauss Cannon fires a very narrow beam that must be aimed accurately to be effective. Fortunately, the Gauss Cannon has a moderate rate of fire (semi-automatic) and can be aimed on the move without difficulty. You can use the Gauss Cannon to hit foes at any range, and it is particularly effective against demons. Though not as devastating to multiple opponents as the BFG, the higher rate of fire and lack of splash damage risk to self makes the Gauss Cannon a worthy alternative.
