A variety of different creatures have made their home in the savage lands of Draenor. In every zone, rare creatures hold special weapons, armor, and fun items for your character. These creatures are typically indicated by the silver border around their character portrait. Rare creatures are usually much more difficult to defeat, and often have special attacks or abilities that you’ll need to counter in order to successfully do so.
Some rare spawns are hidden away out of sight, or require some sort of action to be taken in order to spawn the creature. You can always tell where a rare spawn is located by the icon on your minimap—how to get to the creature, however, is up to you to discover.
These rare creatures have amazing loot for the taking, but you may only loot their special treasures once. After you have successfully defeated one of these rare enemies, their character portrait will no longer have a silver border—this way, you know which creatures you have already defeated, and which still pose a challenge worth taking on.
