A Work Order is essentially an assigned job given to a building, which returns valuable materials to you. Each building asks for its own unique requirement for placing a Work Order. For example, the Herb Garden requires Draenic Seeds to place a Work Order, while the Lumber Mill requires Timber. What materials you get back from individual buildings also varies; the Herb Garden will give you various herbs commonly found in Draenor in exchange for your Draenic Seeds, while the Lumber Mill will give you Garrison Resources in exchange for all that Timber.
What you do with all those materials you receive from Work Orders is entirely up to you. You can use the materials to craft items for yourself; you can sell those materials on the Auction House if you’d like. Either way, you’re generating useful items that will benefit the way you play, whether it be armor, potions, herbs, ore, or simply gold in exchange for it all.
Production Increase
To create a Work Order, simply speak to the appropriate NPC in your Garrison Building, and hand over the materials they require. Once your Work Order is filled, it will appear as a crate you can loot. The amount of Work Orders you can place at a time depends on the level of your buildings. The higher the level, the more Work Orders you can process!
