World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor Signature Series Strategy Guide PROFESSIONS CRAFTING

Tailoring

Tailoring

Tailoring creates cloth armor, shirts, bags, and other items out of different types of cloth or fur. Cloth is a plentiful, readily available resource that drops from humanoid and many undead enemies. In addition to cloth, Tailors also use silks dropped by spiders, and fur dropped by various beasts. Tailors can also learn how to improve various types of cloth. In Warlords of Draenor, Tailors can even craft their own mount—a flying carpet.

PRACTICING TAILORING

Tailoring is a fairly straightforward process; all you need is cloth, and sometimes thread as well. Since cloth, silk and fur are so easily obtained, this particular Profession doesn’t really get difficult until later levels, when daily cooldowns come into play. Certain types of special cloth, used to create more powerful items, can only be crafted once per day.

MAKING MONEY WITH TAILORING

Bags are the most widespread product from this Profession. Tailors have a long-term market for these, especially once they start getting into bags from the later game. In addition, Tailors can create a variety of shirts and other specialized clothing for fun and role-playing purposes. The different kinds of armor that tailors can create are sometimes in demand as well, but more often than not bags will be your main source of income. Players always need more space for collecting!

DRAENOR TAILORING

Tailoring in Draenor has changed significantly from Tailoring in Azeroth. You’ll be able to collect Sumptuous Fur from any beast on Draenor, but you’ll need to combine it into Hexweave Cloth to make most items. Hexweave Cloth is created through a daily cooldown, but it can also be created via Work Orders processed at the Tailoring Emporium. Thus, if you have both the Tailoring Emporium, and Tailoring trained as a Profession, you’ll be able to craft recipes much faster—because you’ll be generating Hexcloth in much larger amounts.

Recipes in Draenor can be learned and created at skill level 1. However, there are also other methods of leveling Tailoring quickly while on Draenor. As you quest and complete content, you may find various torn items that can be combined with Sumptuous Fur and turned in to your Garrison, in exchange for Garrison Resources. There are also Uncommon and Rare quality versions of these items that do not need repair; they can simply be taken to your Garrison. All of these items will also grant you skill points when they are turned in.

Tailors can create Epic quality armor and capes that can be upgraded up to two times. Armor and cloaks don’t just take Hexweave Cloth to craft, they also require various Draenor herbs, hides, ore, and even flasks created by Alchemists. In addition to armor and bags, Tailors can also craft the Elekk Plushie, a unique—and cuddly—new Battle Pet.
