World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor Signature Series Strategy Guide CHARACTER CLASS INTRODUCTION

Priest

Priest

Overview

While traditionally viewed as a healing class, Priests are capable of inflicting damage as well. Wearing only cloth armor, Priests are vulnerable to melee attacks at early levels so you must learn to keep enemies at a safe distance, kill them quickly, or keep them occupied.

Priests are highly sought after in group situations. Though you carry a substantial burden (that of keeping the group alive), it’s possible to learn the dynamic quickly, especially if you’re motivated to be a good healer. It’s more challenging to play a Priest solo, but it’s far from an impossible task. Priests have every tool they need to kill monsters on their own.

Prominent Class Abilities

Healing Spells

Priests are in demand for groups because they have a variety of healing spells that work in different ways, but share the same function: keep allies alive. Power Word: Fortitude increases the overall health of allies; Lesser Heal and Heal restore health immediately; Renew restores health to a target over time. You even learn how to encase yourself or an ally in a bubble which absorbs incoming damage!

Shadowform

For the Priests who prefer to specialize in dealing damage rather than restoring health, there is Shadowform. Shadowform literally turns the Priest into a translucent shadow. In Shadowform, Priests deal increased Shadow damage and take a reduced amount of damage. If you enjoy playing a Priest and want to play solo, Shadowform is the way to go.

Specializations

At level 10, Priests must decide on one of the following specializations: Discipline, Holy, or Shadow.
