World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor Signature Series Strategy Guide CHARACTER CLASS INTRODUCTION

Druid

Druid

Overview

Druids are the only class with four specializations. Druids can perform any group roles. They can fight in melee combat or use powerful spells from a safe distance. At level 6, Druids begin gaining the ability to change forms. Each form gives the Druid a different appearance and different abilities. Druids even learn how to fly under their own power (other classes need mounts to fly).

There is so much Druids can do and they have so many abilities, it’s easy to become confused. However, don’t be discouraged from trying out a Druid if you feel drawn to them, or if you have a background in other types of gaming and don’t feel like you’ll be in over your head. Remember that you do not need to perfect all four specializations at once and can progress by focusing on any single one of them.

Prominent Class Abilities

Shapeshifting

The versatility of Druids is highlighted by the many forms they can assume. Starting at level 6, where they get cat form, Druids end up with many potential choices, and each form is designed to enhance the Druid’s abilities in a certain way: bear for durability, cat for inflicting damage, and moonkin for spell damage. Druids who want to heal stay in their base caster form, but can turn into the powerful Tree of Life with the Incarnation talent.

Travel Options

In addition to their combat forms, Druids learn special forms that boost their travel speed. They can assume a travel form that boosts their land speed, an aquatic form for increased swimming speed and underwather breathing, and a flight form that allows them to take to the sky.

Specializations

At level 10, Druids must decide to follow one of the following talent trees: Balance, Feral, Guardian, or Restoration.
