World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor Signature Series Strategy Guide CHARACTER CLASS INTRODUCTION

Shaman

Shaman

Overview

Shamans are masters of Nature and Elemental magic. They are a hybrid class that can fill multiple roles with vastly different playstyles. They can heal, deal damage with spells, or fight in close quarters.

Shamans draw their strength from the four natural elements (Air, Earth, Fire, Water). This is reflected in the totems they use to help battle enemies, and the different weapon imbues they use to enhance their weapons.

Prominent Class Abilities

Totems

Totems summon the power of the elements (Earth, Fire, Water, and Air) for a variety of effects. Totems are temporary creations, and they can be targeted and destroyed by attacks. There are totems that blast nearby enemies with fire. Others are more defensive in nature, or restore your health and mana. Shaman can use one totem from each element simultaneously.

Shocks

Shocks are a type of spell that a Shaman can use instantly. These spells typically damage your target, and also have a variety of effects including damage over time, or reducing a target’s movement speed.

Specializations

At level 10, Shamans must decide on one of the following specializations: Elemental, Enhancement, or Restoration.
