Time Trial

Drift through the first curve to charge a Mini-Turbo, then release the drift and start a new one to the left. Try to stay off the banked wall to the right of the arch.

When you pass under the arch, release the drift and Mini-Turbo toward the wall on your left. As the track loops to the right, drift along the banked wall to avoid slipping off the ice.

Hold the drift through the end of the loop, then start a new drift as the track bends to the left. The boost of speed from the resulting Super Mini-Turbo might force you onto the wall on the right; drift back to the path’s center, but make sure your angle is gentle enough to maintain control. Aim your kart at the coin coming up on the left, then release the drift to Mini-Turbo toward it.

After you grab the coin, veer back to the track’s center. Drive over the ramp and hop into a jump. When you land, steer around the hole in the ice ahead of you. You can veer in either direction, but consider the waddling penguins when you choose a path. There are a few smaller holes just ahead, so try to maneuver your kart between them.

Use a couple of small drifts to stay on the narrow strip of ice. You should be able to hold each drift long enough to charge a Mini-Turbo. You’re heading for the cavern just ahead of you. If you fall into the water, drive to the pond’s end and return to the path.

As you enter the cavern, look for the coin near the left wall. As the path curves to the right, veer toward the left wall and drive through the coin. After you grab it, make a hard drift to the left. Try to slip between the two icicles ahead of you. Grab the coin near the icicles, then release the drift to Mini-Turbo through the turn.

Drive along the path’s right side, and look for the dash panel at the track’s edge. Be very careful during your approach! Move your kart to the track’s edge and begin a hard drift to the left. Hold the drift across the dash panel, then move toward the track’s left edge. There are two gentle curves ahead of you, and each of them has a dash panel along its outside edge. Start a fresh drift between each dash panel to stay on the track as you speed through the curve.

Hop into the jump as you exit the cavern, then follow the track as it curves to the left. Drift through the turn, but take care to stay on the track. When you come out of the curve, Super Mini-Turbo toward the end of the lap.

Tactics for Laps 2 and 3

After you complete the first lap, a section of the ice is removed from the pond. Use a Mushroom to boost over the larger gap on each of the remaining laps. The third Mushroom can be used at any time, but consider saving it to recover from a collision or an unplanned swim. Other than that, you can use the same basic tactics to complete the event.
