When reaching the fork in the track, you can take the safer left path. This path has no bouncing mushrooms, unlike the right path. This is a safer option if there is a tight pack of racers on the right path.
When going through the cave with the crystals, take care when using the left path with the blue mushroom. If there is another racer behind you, they may hit you with a Shell, causing you to fall into the pit below.
You should always try to collect coins during the race, but the turn before the finish line is one of the easier spots to grab a quick four coins. Make sure to drift around this turn and collect the coins—just watch out for the Goombas in the area!
When bouncing off the mushrooms on this track, make sure you’re traveling in the direction you want to go. Your momentum will carry you in the direction you were already going when you bounce!
Placing Bananas on the mushrooms is a great strategy. Oftentimes your opponents will be bouncing onto the next mushroom and won’t be able to change the direction they are going, making them land right on the Banana you dropped!
