Take care when in the lead on this section of the course; you may end up directly behind the pinball! If you hit the dash panel with the pinball in front of you, it will end badly.
When driving through this portion of the track, a somewhat safer option is staying on the far left or far right side. You won’t have to worry about bumpers, but still keep an eye out for pinballs. There is also a single item box on either side, which can be enough to turn the tide of a race!
When being launched through the long tunnel, use a Red Shell on an opponent if you have one. They’ll be hit and fall just outside the end of the tunnel, allowing you to pull ahead!
Once you land from the long tunnel, you can use the dash panels located along the track’s outer edge, but you’ll possibly miss collecting one of the item boxes along the inner portion.
