Rocket Start off the line, then veer to the left. Drift back to the right and grab the coins near the path’s edge. Try to hold the drift long enough to charge a Super Mini-Turbo, but make sure you don’t fall off the mountain! As the path curves to the left, release your drift and start a new one. Try to perform at least one more Super Mini-Turbo before you reach the cavern entrance.
As you enter the cavern, watch out for incoming Swoopers. Try to drift along the wall to the right, but swing wide if you don’t have enough space. When you come out of the turn, release the drift and Super Mini-Turbo toward the wall to your left. Make sure to avoid the first rock column, then drift through the coins as the path snakes through the cavern.
Exit the cavern and drive straight down the metal ramp. Aim for the center of the glide panel, then hop into the jump to barrel roll as your glider deploys.
Glide through the coins in your path, but watch out for the pipe protruding from the rocks on your right. As you approach the second group of coins, veer slightly to the left to avoid the pipe on your way down to the forest. When you land, follow the path to another glide panel. This glide is much shorter than the first one; swoop under the toppled tree ahead of you and return to the path.
Land in the path’s center, then drift into a hard right turn. Look for the small ramp in the grass ahead of you, then use a Mushroom to boost through the clearing.
Try to hit the ramp near its left edge, then veer slightly to the right. Hop into the jump and return to the path. When you land, veer toward the dash panel coming up on your left. Try to slip through the gap between the traffic cones and the ramp, but straighten out to avoid boosting into the wall.
As you drive over the dash panel, scan the area for incoming boulders. If the path is clear, boost straight to the next dash panel, then return to the path’s center. Keep an eye out for boulders, and use the available dash panels to speed up the mountainside. When you reach the glide panel, hop into the jump and glide through the end of the lap.
Tactics for Laps 2 and 3
Use the same basic tactics to complete the remaining laps. Adjust your racing line to dodge new Swoopers and boulders, and try to grab any conveniently placed coins.
