During Chapter 1, after locking up Poison Ivy, Aaron Cash mentions a missing crew of firefighters. Fifteen members are scattered throughout the city and each one is tied up and protected by a group of hostiles of increasing difficulty. Once the pack of enemies has been taken care of, free the hostage. Each has something to add to the investigation into who is responsible. As each is released, getting close to the next firefighter’s location places him on the map and gives an Intel on the Mission Select screen. Only three are available during Chapter 1. Two more are found in Chapter 3. The rest are available as you progress through the fifth chapter. After all 15 are safe at GCPD, the suspect can be apprehended and brought in to the lockup.
Firefighter #1: Leary-Wood
Location: Bleake Island - Dixon Dock West
Located: Chapter 1
The first missing firefighter is located at Dixon Dock West in the security office located above the gate. Grapple to the roof and target a hostile through the skylight. If you drove to the location and with the right angle, a Batmobile Assisted Takedown can be performed. Only a few thugs are present inside, so this is a quick fight.
Firefighter #2: Adamson
Location: Bleake Island - Chinatown
Located: Chapter 1
Just northeast of the bridge to ACE Chemicals, this hostage is held just past the pier. They are mostly under cover so it is hard to get the jump on them from above. Only a handful of plain thugs guard this fire fighter.
Firefighter #3: Scott
Location: Founders’ Island – Ryker Heights
Located: Chapter 3
In far north Ryker Heights, on the pier, a hostage is held under tight security. A sniper takes aim from the lighthouse. Make him your first victim. A Detective Mode Jammer keeps Batman from getting a good look at the predator zone. He patrols near the trade house on the south side. Make him the second target. Use the beams and floor grates to finish off the other thugs.
Firefighter #4: Wyatt
Location: Bleake Island – The Caldron
Located: Chapter 3
In between the lighthouse and Falcone Shipping, this firefighter is held amongst the cranes. Only three armed thugs stand over the guy, but more patrol nearby. This hostage requires predatory skills to free. Stalk the hostiles from the crane and shack rooftop.
Firefighter #5: Norman
Location: Bleake Island – The Cauldron
Located: Chapter 3
A firefighter is held northeast of Falcone Shipping, next to the water. Drop onto the line that runs between the building and light post. From there, drop in on the group of thugs. Try to line up an Environment Takedown on the brute, using the overhead light.
Firefighter #6: Ashley
Location: Bleake Island – Chinatown
Located: Chapter 3
The thugs have this firefighter tied up on a terrace in Chinatown. Grapple to the rooftop that overlooks the location and start the brawl with a Fear Multi-Takedown, targeting the armed hostiles. Watch out for the guys with knives. Avoid their attacks with a Blade Dodge.
Firefighter #7: Cannon
Location: Bleake Island - Chinatown
Located: Chapter 5
Just across the water from Lady of Gotham island this firefighter is held in southern Chinatown—across the street from the Clock Tower. Strike from the awning above with a Fear Multi-Takedown. Use the Remote Electrical Charge on the thugs with Stun Sticks.
Firefighter #8: Green
Location: Miagani Island – Mercy Bridge
Located: Chapter 3
On the east side of Mercy Bridge, seven armed thugs hold a firefighter at gunpoint. It is possible to get in a Fear Multi-Takedown from the ledge above, but you must be quick with the remaining enemies or grapple away.
Firefighter #9: Hill
Location: Miagani Island – Kingston
Located: Chapter 3
A group of thugs guard this firefighter next to the Gotham Herald building. These normal hostiles do not pose much of a threat for Batman.
Firefighter #10: Richardson
Location: Miagani Island - Kingston
Located: Chapter 3
On the north side of the Grand Avenue Station, six Gun Turrets and four Thugs guard a firefighter. Find the switch on the wall, south of their location. Use the Remote Hacking Device to open it up and then drive the Batmobile inside. Use its firepower to eliminate the automated guns and hostiles before freeing the hostage.
Firefighter #11: Daniell
Location: Miagani Island – Wayne Tower, southeast corner
Located: Chapter 3
On the southeast side of Wayne Tower, nine armed thugs guard the eleventh firefighter. Equip the Disruptor and sabotage the three furthest guns. Drop a Smoke Pellet in the middle of the near group and Drop Attack one of the enemies. Continue with a Fear Multi-Takedown to thin out the crowd, being sure to target those with functional weapons. Quickly take care of the rest of the pack.
Firefighter #12: Bliss
Location: Founders’ Island – outside Wayne International Plaza, north side
Located: Chapter 3
On the north side of Wayne International Plaza, eight thugs and two brutes watch over the hostage. Drop in on them from above and take them down. No real challenge here.
Firefighter #13: Taylor
Location: Founders’ Island – Port Adams
Located: Chapter 3
A firefighter is being held hostage in a control room in the middle of Port Adams. Eight armed hostiles guard him, two inside and six patrolling around the exterior. Take them down one-by-one with Batman’s predatory abilities.
Firefighter #14: Wilson
Location: Founders’ Island - Ryker Heights
Located: Chapter 3
At the Urbarail Station in Ryker Heights, a group of eleven thugs and three brutes holds another firefighter. Scope out the scene from the girders above and then drop in with a Fear Multi-Takedown. Use the Cape Stun on the brutes, followed up with Beat Downs to finish them off.
Firefighter #15: Lozar
Location: Founders’ Island – Ryker Heights, lower tier
Located: Chapter 5
Drive to the old, lower level of Ryker Heights and find Killinger’s. Spot a Winch Anchor Point to the northwest on the side of a building. Pull down the wall with the Batmobile's Power Winch and grapple inside. A big group of thugs protects a firefighter in the next room. Swing across to the vantage point to get a better view. Hit the two-armed hostiles with the Disruptor and then start things out with a Fear Multi-Takedown. Finish off the group and free the hostage.
Most Wanted: Chief Underhill
Location: Founders’ Island - Ryker Heights
Located: Chapter 5, after saving all other Firefighters
Chief Underhill is being held in Ryker Heights on the top floor of the City Vision building. Grapple to a high vantage point and scope out the sixteen-armed hostiles. Use all of the predator skills you've learned up to this point to take down the enemies. The last three guys guard the Chief. Move toward their location and either take them out with a Fear Multi-Takedown or sabotage their weapons and eliminate them with melee attacks.
