As soon as you enter the area, you discover that, not entirely unsurprisingly, the archaeologist is gone—kidnapped by a group of powerful opponents known as Minions. These demonic creatures move quickly and are master blockers, meaning Melee fighters are in for a rough ride. Never tackle Minions head-on; Flourish with abandon and consider using the Slow Time and Assassin Rush Spells if you’re struggling. Ranged fighters have it easier, as Minions are pretty powerless against Multi Arrow attacks. Be careful, though; every Guard you rescue on this quest is a boon in battle—try not to take them out with an indiscriminate arrow.
As you make your way along the path to the north, you encounter two types of Minions—Melee-focused red Wardogs and blue Dreadwings. Always be sure to deal with the blue ones first. Tread carefully—Minions can appear at any time—and swipe the Piercing Augmentation from the chest near the bridge. There’s a second chest containing an Ebony Longbow to the right, just before the northern exit. However, approaching it summons another Minion, so be wary. Finally, smash the barrels for a Sheriff Moustache, and, when you’re ready, continue on to Windmill Hill.
