With so much to spend your hard-earned cash on in Albion, you’ll always be wanting of a few extra Gold. Aside from completing quests, killing things, and finding treasure, there are several other ways to supplement your income.
Property
You can buy one home in each town across Albion, with more becoming available if you accidentally eviscerate their tenants. Houses in your possession can be used as matrimonial residences or rented out for money. You won’t make bucket loads of cash through rent, but it’s possible to increase those meagre sums by improving a house’s decor or by hanging Trophies on the walls. Happily, homes never decrease in value, meaning you can sell them for the price you originally paid whenever you choose.
Trading
Albion’s Traders are a fussy lot and most shops will only buy the stuff they sell, plus a few special Wanted items that always get a decent price. Since prices differ from shop to shop, smart Heroes can buy a commodity from one Trader and sell it to another at a healthy markup. Be warned, though: buying too much of an item raises its price as stock wains. Likewise, an item’s resell value drops as a Trader’s stock increases.
An effective strategy when trading is to check a shop’s Wanted list and purchase those items from Traders that sell below value—good deals are always listed in green. Successful trading takes care and attention but can reap considerable rewards.
Gambling
If you’re the gambling sort, Albion offers a host of activities that can make you some big money quickly. You can place a maximum bet of 1,000 Gold on any Pub Game, with Blackjack and Card Pairs offering huge rewards if you’re suitably skilled. You can even cheat at timed games with the Slow Time Spell—so why not have a flutter?
Stealing
Stealing has obvious financial rewards; however, there’s one neat trick that can rake in the cash, big time. Unlike items stolen from houses, shop stock is always replaced. Simply Sneak into a shop at night, Steal everything you can, then immediately leave town. Re-enter and you’re free to rob it, restocked, all over again. The delicious twist, of course, is that, come morning, you can sell everything back to your victim—black-hearted sod that you are.
