As soon as you enter Darkwood, two Traders approach. They require the assistance of a Hero to get through this forsaken place unscathed and that’s where you come in. To complete the Trader Escort quest, you need to keep at least one Trader alive long enough to reach Barrow Fields—and, unfortunately for everyone, there’s a long, long way to go.
Your two companions aren’t exactly hardened fighters—and it won’t take more than a couple of blows to kill them stone-cold dead. In other words, leading them straight into battle is far from a great idea. Instead, command them to Wait at the end of each area while you run ahead to clear the next one of danger—just don’t forget to make them Follow again once you’re done. Stick to this pattern and even the Protect Traders Boast shouldn’t pose much trouble at all.
A little farther into Darkwood Entrance, you’ll meet a third Trader, apparently stricken with some curious malady. He’ll ask to tag along with your party—but the choice is entirely yours. Agreeing, unsurprisingly, counts as a Good deed, while leaving the Trader to fend for himself is considered Evil.
When the decision is made, press on, and, just before you reach the archway leading to the Darkwood Marshes, nip down the small path to the right. Swipe the Resurrection Phial from the chest at the end then return to the main road. You’ll find Red Meat and a Will Potion close to the south-eastern exit—grab them, command your motley crew to Wait, then head on through.
