Make your way down the huge stone staircase to find the boy you’ve been searching for all this time. Unfortunately, he’s been captured by a Nymph—and she’s only prepared to release him in exchange for another soul. If you’ve brought the Bandit along, now’s the time to earn that Sacrifice Innocents Boast—if not, don’t worry; you’ll have a fight on your hands either way.
This can be a tough battle, thanks to the constant influx of new Hobbe opponents. Your best tactic is to auto-target the Nymph and unleash a charged Ranged attack where possible, turning your attention back to the Hobbes if you’re becoming overwhelmed. Once the Nymph is defeated, polish off the last remaining Hobbes and the boy will Follow. Be sure to dig up the Silver Key inside the mushroom ring to the north-east before leaving the area.
The Great Escape
By all means, celebrate your victory against the Nymph. Just remember that you still need to reach the surface in one piece. Use Wait on the boy while you clear the chamber’s staircase of any lingering Hobbes then lead him to the exit and command him to Wait again. The Moonlit Tunnel is now swarming with enemies so head on through, clear them out, and only then return for the boy.
There’s one final challenge at Hobbe Cave Entrance. You can’t clear the area completely, so your first step should be to make the boy Wait by the doorway at the foot of the staircase. Next, rush ahead, kill as many Hobbes as you can, then grab the boy once more, proceeding carefully to the exit in case of ambush.
Out in the Open
Once you’ve made it outside, your Bandit cohort demands his share of the loot—assuming you didn’t hand him over to the Nymph, of course. Either pay up or put an end to his sorry life. With that bit of business taken care of, follow the boy back to Rose Cottage and claim 5,500 Gold, 400 Renown, and a Hobbe Head Trophy. Congratulations!
Greatwood Caves Demon Door
“I need to see your Combat Multiplier get higher before I swing ajar.”
Greatwood Caves is home to one of the most challenging Demon Doors in all of Albion. To prise it open, you need a Combat Multiplier level of at least 14. If you’ve picked up the Physical Shield Spell, it’s entirely possible (if not especially easy) to achieve this right now. If you’re still struggling, though, come back later when you’re stronger. Essentially, your goal is to run the gauntlet along the nearby cave system, whacking everything in sight until your Multiplier is sufficiently high. Provided it’s at 28 or above when you leave Hobbe Cave, you can rush back and speak to the door, granting access to The Butterfly House and the Legendary Cutlass Bluetane within.
Finding the Bandit Seeress
With Hobbe Cave now finally behind you, it’s time to continue on with your main quest. Teleport back to Oakvale and make your way to the cave entrance at the far end of the south-western beach.
