This long, winding road is teeming with Bandits, meaning you can easily satisfy the Bandit Blood Boast here, if you’re so inclined. Ranged fighters can simply pick enemies off from a distance but Melee combatants should prepare themselves for a tougher fight—Bandits just love to block, so Flourishes prove particularly useful. As you proceed along the path, be sure to loot each of the five chests to get yourself a full Bandit outfit—consisting of Bandit Boots, a Bandit Shirt, Bandit Trousers, a Bandit Bandana, and, finally, Bandit Gloves.
Smash up any barrels you pass to find Ages of Will and Ages of Skill Potions, a Will Potion, Health Potion, plus 250 Gold. There’s also a Resurrection Phial in a chest near the Demon Door at the far western end of the map. Once you’ve done everything you need to, head north-west to Twinblade’s Camp, wafting your pass as you go.
Abandoned Road Demon Door
“What? Oh. You’re not one of them, are you? My eyesight’s not what it used to be. One was a gallant knight. His plate armour was so shiny. Probably what did my eyes in. Then there was an evil mage, wore the darkest magical robes you ever saw. The last was a rogue—a bandit, bit like the chaps here.”
To open this particular door, you need to convince it that you’re three of its oldest friends—by wearing three specific outfits in the order requested. You should already have the Rogue-ish Bandit outfit, plus the Dark Will User’s clothes needed to become the Evil mage (these are found behind the Darkwood Marshes Demon Door). To convince the door of your gallant knight credentials, however, you need the Bright Plate Mail—found later, either at the Arena or purchased bit by bit from Traders in Knothole Glade. Once you’ve put on your impromptu fashion show, grab the Dollmaster’s Mace from the Bitter Shrine beyond the door.
