Before you begin to explore this perilous, winding path, swipe the handful of discarded items in the alcove immediately to your left. Tip your hat to their previous owner, then proceed north. The route ahead is heaving with enemies so tread carefully as you slalom toward your destination.
Glance to the right as you reach the old stone bridge and raid the nearby chest to secure an Ages of Will Potion. Next, cross the bridge and prepare to confront the legendary Frost Balverine—a stronger, more aggressive variant of your old mainland foe. Use your preferred Balverine take-down strategy to deal with your assailants and be sure to keep watch for their devastating claw attacks. As you reach the eastern-most bend, look for the grave tucked away to the left and use your Spade to dig up the Furite Stripe Face Tattoo.
Press onward and pluck the Health Augmentation from the chest at the side of the road, just before the stone steps. Here, the path splits in two—one road heading east and the other continuing to the north. Unfortunately, the northern gates are sealed right now so east is your only option—and, more unfortunately still, another pack of Frost Balverines lies in wait.
Particularly unlucky Heroes may also encounter a Succubus Queen in the area. This elite Nymph variant can withstand a serious pummelling and, to make matters worse, has the power to summon Wraiths—formidable, frozen Undead warriors. Wraiths are master blockers and it’s incredibly tough to deal out damage unless you can launch a strike from behind.
Thankfully, though, your destination is near. If you can’t face an army of ice-cold opponents, simply make a dash for the cave entrance along the path to the east.
