- Story: You travel to Pilgrim’s Landing in Phokis to confront the mysterious Elpenor and collect his reward for the Wolf’s head.
Return to Elpenor in Phokis
Sail from the western shores (1) of Megaris to Pilgrim’s Landing in Phokis and speak to Elpenor (6). You can complete the Alekto shipwreck’s location objective (2) and pirate island’s location objective (3) along the way.
Ship battles along the way are avoidable, but it’s better to participate in sea bounties and destroy as many ships in the area as you can to increase your ship’s stats.
You can also detour a bit and take the A Pirate’s Life side quest (4) on the isle of Thisvi before seeing Elpenor. Don’t lie to the quest giver that his brother is still alive or you risk failing that quest.
Dock (5) on the southern shores of Kirrha in Phokis. Synchronize with Ianos Hangout and travel north through town to find Elpenor (6).
Elpenor seems shocked to see Nikolaos’s helmet slammed on the desk in front of him but reveals that he already knew that Nikolaos is actually your stepfather. Who is this guy and how does he know so much about you?
Conversation with Elpenor
Trusting Elpenor will be a concern. Talking alone may not resolve the situation, but you can use him to learn more by answering his prying questions before attacking. Outside you can choose to reveal anything you wish by stating “My birth father might live,”“My mother is still alive,” or “I’m not telling you.”
No matter how the conversation unfolds, a fight breaks out with his guards. He escapes. Defeat his closest guards. Having a tier 2 Shield Breaker ability is very helpful in this fight. Their shields are too heavy for the tier 1 ability to be effective. Investigate the house after defeating the two guards.
Investigate Elpenor’s house
Ianos Hangout
Elpenor escapes on horseback, but you can learn where he’s headed by investigating the clues inside his house, in a room indicated by the magnifying glass location markers. There’s a note from Antonide on a desk. The second clue is a ship manifest found on the corner shelf. Before you leave, check the third and last clue on the table near the door. The quest completes when you exit the clue room. This unlocks a version of Snake in the Grass where you must “Find Elpenor.”
