Memories Awoken
- Recommended Level: 14
- Prerequisite: Complete The Serpent’s Lair
- Unlocks: Welcome to Athens and Upgrade the Spear
- Story: From the moment he laid eyes on your spear, Herodotos knew it was special. Before you sail to Athens, Herodotos meets you at Thermopylae, where the blade last fell from King Leonidas’s mighty hand.
Talk to Herodotos at Thermopylae
From the Bouleuterion of Delphi (1), head northeast to find Herodotos at the monument where King Leonidas fell in Thermopylae (3) in Malis. Talk to Herodotos.
Conversation with Herodotos
You can spark the conversation by asking “Tell me why we’re here.” He touches the broken spear and sees an epic vision of Leonidas’s final stand. Afterward you can talk to him about that Spartan battle, what happened to Leonidas, or the traitor. But to progress the story, ask “You knew the spear would do that.” He suggests you seek out the peculiar structure on the island of Andros. It is said to belong to an advanced civilization. Ask him about these people or continue by selecting “We sail to Andros.”
Find and Enter the Mysterious Structure
Island of Andros
You appear on the Adrestia(4) and Barnabas welcomes Herodotos aboard the ship. The distant marker (5) is 6,781 meters away. Enter travel speed to reach Andros soon. Take time for sea battles to further upgrade your ship.
Dock the ship at Andros’s shores (5) and send Ikaros up to locate the structure.
Enter the structure. You use the spear to gain entry but not before entering a dream about your mother from your childhood.
Explore the Cave
Ancient Forge
Once inside the ancient forge, head to the far end and approach the spear altar. Interact with it.
Modern Day
Layla Hassan
Interacting with the spear altar is the last thing Layla sees as Dr. Victoria Bibeau unplugs her from the Animus. Her vitals were crashing, and the doctor had to get her out.
Conversation with Dr. Victoria Bibeau
You can ask the doc “What do you think of the mission so far?” Or “What do you think about the new Animus?” But to break away to explore the rooms, select “That’s enough for now.”
Laptop Interaction
Interact with your laptop and you can ask Alannah (communicating online) “What can you tell me about the book?” or “What do you know about Herodotos?” or end the conversation with “That’s enough fornow.”
The many things
Check your email, photos, audio, and other files on the computer. You can get lost in researching the info and communications in there. When you’re done with that, interact with the eagle carving and then have a walkie-talkie conversation with Kiyoshi by the window. You can find Tom Clancy’s R6 night vision goggles, a tour guide of Quebec, and a funny Rayman Rabbid figurine in the other room.
Return to Greece
Interact with the Animus to return to Greece. The doctor will talk to you, giving you a chance to change your mind and stay a little longer. But to head back to Greece, answer “Yes, I want to return to the Animus.”
Talk to Herodotos
Ancient Forge
Once back in the forge, having placed the spear in the altar, you learn the spear was upgraded, giving you new abilities. The Spear of Leonidas can be upgraded here from now on. All you need is artifact fragments gained by taking out cultists. You can upgrade the spear the moment you get the artifact after meeting Deimos in The Serpent’s Lair. Upgrading the spear increases your adrenaline and unlocks more powerful abilities.
You get artifact fragments from defeated members of the Cult of Kosmos. The Spear Upgrade menu is in the top left corner of the Abilities menu. Look at the info window of the spear to see all the attributes of the new level. Your spear is level 2 of 6 now. You need three artifact fragments to return and upgrade to level 3.
Deimos Encounter
When you make your way out of the forge, Deimos shoots a warning arrow inches from your head. You climb the mountain to meet and talk.
Conversation with Deimos
Influenced by the cult, Deimos is deeply skeptical and aggressive. When accused of throwing Deimos over a mountain in your youth, respond “I can explain everything.” Next, when talking about who “Deimos” is, answer “That’s not who you are” or “Gods don’t bow to the cult.” When talking about your mother, answer “She’s still our mother.” Next, tell Deimos “I’ve never found Nikolaos” even though you have. When called weak, answer “It’s not weakness.” You can ask about the cult’s plans and what they want with your family. Select “I’m bringing down the cult” to continue the conversation. The final selection starts with an aggressive one: “Not before I hurt you,” “You’re still my sister/brother,” and “I’m going.” Select the one about your sibling to earn a point toward reuniting your family.
Now you must return to Herodotos (5) on your docked ship. You now head off to Athens to meet with Perikles. Before leaving, consider killing the cultist called The Chimera at the beach encampment on the other side of Andros.
