Dead Rising 2 eGuide Walkthrough Case 7-1: Bad to Worse

Overtime

No good deed goes unpunished. If you saved T.K.’s miserable life by giving him a shot of Zombrex before defeating Sullivan, then you’re treated to a special epilogue ending called Overtime—but it isn’t what you might expect.

Having saved the day and proven his innocence, Chuck Greene returns to the Safe House with an evac chopper. Everyone’s glad to be getting out of Fortune City—but Stacey and little Katey are nowhere to be found!

Chuck searches the entire Safe House, but finds only Katey’s backpack. Distraught, the broken father remains in the city, watching the Safe House’s security monitors for any trace of Stacey or his beloved little girl.

Suddenly, an all-too-familiar voice rings out over Chuck’s transceiver. It’s T.K., and—surprise, surprise—he’s not calling to thank his savior.

Instead, T.K. has kidnapped Stacey and Katey, and he demands that Chuck retrieve a number of precious valuables scattered all throughout Fortune City before he’ll let them go. Scavenger hunt, anyone?

WORKIN’ OVERTIME

Fortunately, each of T.K.’s items is very easy to track down. Arm yourself with a couple of spiked bats and plenty of food, then head out in search of T.K.’s loot.

Just tune your guide arrow to the first item on the list and work your way down to the last, and you’ll collect the mall in one swift counter clockwise lap around the city.

The only tricky item to nab is the case of queens, located in the Underground near the secret lab. To get it, hop over the catwalk’s red railing to reach a narrow platform, then leap over to the case of queens’ platform and collect the valuable.

After you acquire all of T.K.’s goodies, the villain demands that you bring him the loot in person. Don’t worry about stocking up for battle; it won’t do you any good.

Just head for Fortune City Arena to confront T.K., saving your game at the Americana Casino restroom en route.

T.K. ambushes Chuck when he reaches the arena, zapping him with a cattle prod until Chuck loses consciousness. This can’t be good....

FEAR OF HEIGHTS

When Chuck finally awakes, he finds himself strung upside down, dangling above a mass of zombies inside the arena. Stacey and Katey are in a similar predicament, and it appears that T.K. is running the show.

While T.K. gloats his glorious victory, Chuck acts fast and begins pulling himself up the rope, climbing to the arena’s upper catwalks.

T.K. hadn’t expected Chuck to be so resourceful and rushes to confront his nemesis in an epic finale.

SHOW STOPPER

At long last, Chuck has a chance to get revenge on T.K.—but he’ll need to act fast, or Stacey and his little girl will become zombie food.

First things first: T.K. has relieved Chuck of all of his weapons, so you’ll need to find one pronto. Sprint to one side and climb up onto one of the steel walls to locate a lead pipe. This will have to do.

Next on the list is food. Drop from the metal wall and make a run around the central crank, grabbing the few cartons of orange juice that lie near piles of cardboard boxes.

Jump onto the cardboard boxes as well to quickly bust them open, potentially revealing more curatives.

Once you’ve got a weapon and some food, stand your ground near the central crank, waiting for T.K. to appear and attack.

Dodge T.K.’s vicious blows and retaliate with relentless pipe or wrench strikes before he flees. Strive to land multiple hits during each exchange.

T.K. has some nasty moves—if he hits Chuck while charging, he’ll grab onto Chuck and unleash a series of strong attacks. Use the Dodge Roll to avoid being grabbed.

If this doesn’t work, counter T.K.’s assaults by quickly imitating the series of onscreen commands, thereby minimizing the damage and breaking free.

Continue to dodge T.K.’s attacks and counter with blows of your own, tuning T.K. up until the brute is at last defeated.

FORTUNATE ENDING

Having had his fill of Mr. King’s games, Chuck hurls the villain off the high platform—a fall that no one could hope to survive.

With T.K.’s guts decorating the floor below, Chuck hurriedly turns the crank, elevating Stacey and little Katey out of danger.

The three have been through quite an ordeal here at Fortune City, but they’ve managed to survive the countless horrors and to save every possible outbreak survivor along the way.

Chuck’s good name has been restored, and those who have wronged him have been made to pay the ultimate price. Now that’s what we call a happy ending!
